Karnala Sai Chirner (NAINA)

The name "Karnala Sai Chirner" refers to the area officially designated and notified as the “KSC New Town”. KSC is an abbreviation drawing on key villages included in the designation, such as Karnala and Sai (both in Panvel Taluka), and Chirner (in Uran Taluka).
This New Town designation covers the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) Influence Area, comprising a total of 124 villages from Raigad District (approximately 323.44 sq. km.). The goal of this designation, sanctioned on October 15, 2024, is to make the MTHL project economically viable by capturing the land value enhancement in the influence area. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has been appointed as the "New Town Development Authority" (NTDA) for the KSC New Town
